I know it's been a really long time since I've updated this page, but it's hard to find things to post that I don't mind being recorded for posterity as a definition of my entire being. So I'll give you some links to blogs I visit regularly. The Big Picture covers investing and a wide range of other subjects I find interesting. Calculated Risk covers economics in general and specifically has some great coverage of the unfolding housing crisis. More Economics? Check out The Economist's View by Mark Thoma, an Econ professor at University of Oregon, or Brad DeLong's Grasping Reality with Both Hands brought to you from the reality-based community of Berkeley, California where Brad is a professor of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. Engadget has pretty comprehensive coverage of what's new in the tech world. The Huffington Post is not exactly unbiased and non-controversial, but it does have a weird combination of news, politics and salacious gossip. Want some cool wallpaper for your computer's desktop? Apparently the folks at Woodworker's Central really like wood. They scanned in some images of actual pieces of wood. I looked at a few of my favorites, like Koa, Cherry, Teak and Mahogany. I right-clicked, save as..., and cropped out the borders, then tiled them on my desktop. Now it looks like an actual desk, and a really nice one. It'd be good to get some 1600x1200 images to get rid of the seams, but this'll do for now. |
